Cuban doctors.

HAVANA, Cuba.- The President of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, showed this Wednesday his respect to the doctors of the island in Brazil, who will not continue their mission before the hostility of the elected President Jair Bolsonaro.

Cuban doctors went to intricate places of Brazil to care for the sick, they remained far from their families to give the smile back to an old man or a child. For their altruistic and noble work they deserve respect. We are Cuba, Diaz-Canel wrote on Twitter.

The day before, the Cuban head of State said in the same social network: Heroes of the most altruistic of the missions: to save human lives; Cuba will receive them proud of their dignity and their work.

The Cuban Ministry of Public Health announced the decision not to continue its participation in the More Doctors Program in Brazil, due to conditions and threats of Bolsonaro.
