HAVANA, Cuba.- The International Fair of Food, Beverages and Food Technology, which begins in Havana, allows about 300 specialists and students to exchange experiences about the advances and challenges of the food industry in Cuba.

At the Convention Palace of Havana, the event will extend until next Thursday and it brings together researchers, technologists and teachers from Cuba, Ibero-America, Europe and Asia.

During the meeting in Havana the Advances in the Packaging of Fresh and Processed Products International Workshop will be developed, as well as the symposium titled Novelties in Chocolate.

The Food 2.0 International Fair will also be held at the fairgrounds of Pabexpo, in which national and foreign exhibitors attend, coming from firms responsible for the manufacture of equipment and machinery.

The Ministry of Food Industry in Cuba implements a long-term development program, in which external sources of funding play a leading role, for a demand exceeding 1.4 billion dollars.
