BOGOTA, Colombia.-The mission of the UN in Bogota certified the reception of 7 thousand 132 weapons from the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), what ended the disarmament process.

With this delivery, the commitment of FARC of leaving weapons agreed last May 29 is concretized

This Tuesday Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos and the head of the guerrilla, Rodrigo Londono, aka Timochenko will participate in a closure ceremony of the disarmament process in Mesetas, in Meta Department.

The third and final phase of the process began on June 20, and it is a key step for the country’s main guerrilla to begin its transition to civilian life and become a political movement.
