Brussels, Belgium.- The Belgian association ”Friends of Cuba” condemned the policy of aggression against Cuba carried out by the U.S. government, according to a statement released on Monday.

During its 50th general assembly, the organization said it joins the protests worldwide against the activation of Title III of Helms Burton Act, a fact aimed at intensifying the Washington blockade against Cuba.

This section allows U.S. nationals to sue persons and entities at the justice of that country, even from third countries, which invest in Cuban territory in properties nationalized after the January 1, 1959 revolutionary triumph.

This could affect European companies or others present in Cuba, another example of the extraterritorial scope of the blockade.

The entity demanded ‘the Begian government and the European Union to put into practice all available means to support and help its citizens and companies, as well as oppose all legal processes that are opened in the United States’.

The organization also invited all democratic organizations to reinforce solidarity with the Cuban Revolution, which he described as ‘more necessary than ever’ in the face of the criminal blockade, threats, and destabilization policy implemented against all countries and progressive movements in Latin America.
