HAVANA, Cuba.- The President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, received actor and film director Danny Glover, who visits Cuba to participate as a guest at the twentieth graduation of students of the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM).

During the cordial meeting, they discussed the importance of promoting artistic exchanges between Cuba and the United States, based on existing historical and cultural ties.

President Diaz-Canel expressed concern about the negative impact on this area, because of the setback in bilateral relations, while he reiterated his willingness to move forward with the broad American sectors that favor their improvement.

James Early, director of Cultural Studies and Communication at the Smithsonian Institute’s Center for Folk Life and Cultural Studies Programs in Washington, D.C.; Allen Warren, councilor of Sacramento, California; and Honduran Dr. Luther Castillo, graduated from ELAM accompanied Danny Glover.

Noemi Rabaza, first vice-president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with Peoples, and Carlos Fernandez de Cossio, Director General of the United States of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended the meeting for the Cuban side.
