With the participation of Miguel Diaz-Canel, President of the Councils of State and Ministers, in the Economic Affairs Commission, the work of the Second Regular Session of the IX Legislature of the National Assembly of People’s Power began at 9 a.m. this Sunday in the Conventions Center of the Habana.

The Cuban President, along Esteban Lazo Hernandez, President of the National Assembly, participates in the analysis of core issues, such as the fulfillment of the Economy Plan, and proposals for 2019, the execution of the 2018 budget and the draft law of the 2019 budget.

This commission should also provide preliminary information on the preparation and development of the XIII National Check on Internal Control by the Comptroller General of the Republic, and on the progress of the implementation of the guidelines approved at the VII Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba.

Also present this Sunday are Salvador Valdés Mesa, First Vice President of the Councils of State and Ministers, in the agri-food commission; and Roberto Morales Ojeda, Vice President of the Council of State, in the Education, Culture, Science and Technology commission.

The Commander of the Revolution, Ramiro Valdés Menéndez, Vice President of the Councils of States and Ministers, and Inés María Chapman Waugh, Vice President of the Council of State, in the Commission of Industry, Constructions and Energy, as well as Ulises Rosales del Toro, Vice President of the Council of Ministers, in the Commission of Services, also attend the work in commissions.

The deputies to the National Assembly of People’s Power will be meeting in Havana until next day 21, with analysis and debates on essential aspects of Cuban society, including the draft Constitution.
