The President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sanchez, considered feasible an advance of the general elections, fixed by calendar for June 2020, before the inability to approve the State budgets for 2019.
Esteban Lazo Hernandez, President of the National Assembly of People’s Power, sent a congratulation message on the occasion of the day dedicated to the Cuban press, which is of extraordinary value to strengthen links between parliamentarians and the people.
The 605 deputies to the Cuban Parliament and the 1265 delegates to the provincial Assemblies of People´s Power were elected with more than half of the valid votes issued.
Cuban University students will collaborate in the general elections to be carried out on March 11, an action that contributes to the transparency of the citizen process.
The electoral commissions at all levels work to guarantee a satisfactory result in the elections of March 11, when more than eight million of Cubans are summoned to the polls, to elect the deputies to the Parliament and the delegates to the Provincial Assemblies of People´s Power.
From this Monday until the next June 30 the electoral district commissions will be constituted throughout the country, as part of the program envisaged for the first stage of the general elections.
