Managua, Nicaragua.- Baseball teams of Nicaragua and Cuba will play a friendly five-game series in this Central American country in the last week of June, the sports press reported in Managua on Thursday.

The competition, scheduled for June 26 to 30, will serve both teams to adjust their playing skills for the Pan-American Games in Lima, which will begin on July 26.

Before playing in Nicaragua, the Cuban team will also play a training series in Santo Domingo on July 15-19 with the Dominican nine that is getting ready for the PanAm games.

Media announce that the National Stadium, in Managua, and those in the cities of Leon, Matagalpa and Chontales could be used as venues for the games.

In these last three cities, the presence of the Cuban baseball players will be an unprecedented event.

Cuba swept Nicaragua the last time they met in a friendly match in February 2018 in Managua. The Cubans beat the home team 6-4, 7-1 and 6-3, to stay unbeaten in 21 games against the Nicaraguan team.
