CAMAGÜEY, Cuba. – The active presence of women in any task was demonstrated during the fourth Day of Gender Equity promoted by the Design and Construction Engineering business group.

The participants in the meeting held in Camagüey recognized the example of Emerita Carmenate, operator of a dump truck and driver of several heavy equipment during her working life, who reaffirmed her satisfaction and commitment to the tasks she carries out.

Carmenate added there are no problems with women’s access to certain tasks; however, it is necessary to achieve the same level in their participation in positions of responsibility.

The Design and Engineering Company of Sancti Spiritus presented a master thesis on the need for a leadership strategy based on gender equity, and approaching some of the limitations that persist for women, as well as possible ways of solution.
