Havana, Cuba.- A special keynote speech on paternal emotional disturbance and childhood fear is the focus of the second-day agenda of the 7th Latin American Congress of Health Psychology, ALAPSA 2018, running here until tomorrow.

The program also includes a panel on the experiences and challenges of the child and adolescent health psychology with the participation of delegates from more than 10 countries.

Likewise, the symposium Comprehensive Psychological Care will deepen in the educational styles and abilities of the family and its association with emotional dependence, as well as in the mediation of household members facing the alternative audiovisual consumption of minors, among other issues.

The peculiarities of the assessment of neurodevelopment in high-risk newborn children, the psychotherapeutic surgery aimed at children with attention deficit disorder and infants from an early age with affectations due to exposure to technologies, are other proposals.

ALAPSA 2018 was opened yesterday by the president of the National Council of Scientific Societies of Cuba (CNSC), Pastor Castell-Florit, who highlighted the role of psychologists at an international level.

During the event, presided over by Olga Esther Infante, major and emerging issues will be addressed, by leading personalities from different regions of the world through keynote speeches, symposiums, roundtable discussions, panels and other modalities.

Convened by the Latin American Association of Health Psychology, the event is held for second time in the Caribbean nation, after 2005.
