Havana, Cuba.- The Cuban Telecommunications Company ratified Tuesday the Government”s position of advancing in the development of the computerization of society, in spite of the aggressions against Cuba on the Internet.

‘In spite of all the aggressions gestating from the Internet, Cuba’s response remains the same, to continue developing the necessary infrastructure to offer its people safe and quality access to the Internet’, emphasizes a message from the entity in its Twitter.

Cuba’s President, Miguel Diaz-Canel, reiterated that the computerization of society marks a possibility of modernity and must continue to advance in this regard. This process is already a reality, it exists, and it is taking place in the midst of a complex financial situation, the President explained.

The task must be carried out with our own resources, talent and possibilities, always considering that it is necessary to strengthen our sovereignty, with software made in the country and our own platforms, said Diaz-Canel.

The best thing is that the process is integrated with social communication, because when we become computerized, so do the media become multimedia, said the Head of State.

It also fosters a relationship with citizens and government transparency, because as long as we have websites we will be giving constant information and fostering participation, argued Diaz-Canel.

The President called for the creation of content for young people who use social media to search for the most diverse topics.
