HAVANA, Cuba.- UN Secretary General, His Excellency Antonio Guterres, began an official visit to Cuba on Monday afternoon.

On his arrival at Jose Marti International Airport, Guterres expressed to the press his pride in visiting the island and participating in the inaugural session of the thirty-seven session of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), an organization of great international prestige

During his stay in Cuba, the distinguished guest will dialogue with Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez and pay homage to Cuban national hero Jose Marti, in the memorial erected to his memory in the Revolution Square.

The Secretary General of UN was received on Monday by vice-Chancellor Abelardo Moreno.
