Havana, Cuba.- Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Tuesday wished a prompt recovery to the prime minister of Fiji, Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama, who underwent cardiovascular surgery in Melbourne, Australia.

On his Twitter account, the president recalled Bainimarama’s official visit to Cuba in 2019, when he honored “with his contributions to the ties of friendship and cooperation between both nations.”

This year, Cuba and Fiji celebrate the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations, based on permanent dialogue and the exercise of negotiations in multilateral forums, according to information published on the Cubaminrex website.

Among the sectors in which bilateral collaboration stands out is the training of young people as health professionals to contribute to the strengthening of Fiji’s medical health care system.
