HAVANA, Cuba.- As it had been informed, the working sessions of the Committee commissioned by the Cuban Parliament for the drafting and presentation of the preliminary draft constitution of the Republic began in the Palace of the Revolution in the early hours of this Sunday.
Headed by its President, the first Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, Army General Raul Castro Ruz, this first meeting was intended to make known to the Commission members the previous studies on the subject that constitute the basis for their work.
The meeting, which also included Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez and the second Secretary of the Party, Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, discussed issues relating to the impact in the constitutional order of the economic, political and social transformations derived from the agreements approved in the sixth and seventh congresses of the Party and the objectives of its first National Conference.
The Commission, composed of 33 members representing the entire Cuban society, will continue its working sessions uninterruptedly, taking into account the importance and priority of this task for the current moments of the Revolution.
