cuba vietnamHanoi, Vietnam.-Officials from Vietnam and Cuba have agreed to boost cooperation in political and party work, during a meeting as part of the visit of a delegation from the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) concluded today.

That position was reaffirmed by the Chairman of the General Department of Politics, Colonel General Luong Cuong, and the Minister of the FAR, Army Corps General, Leopoldo Cintra Frias, in talks held here.

They also agreed to foster the education of the new generations in the responsibility of enriching friendship between the two countries, according to official versions of the talks.

The host side expressed satisfaction with the development of the bilateral relations, including its armies.

Cuong also thanked the efficient and unconditional support of the Cuban Communist Party, State, people and Army to Vietnam in the struggle for liberation, as well as in the current national construction company.

Cintra Frias, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Cuban Communist Party, informed Cuong about the results of the talks with leaders and representatives of different units of the armed forces.

The delegation’s program included yesterday a meeting with the head of the General Staff of the People’s Army, Major General Phan Van Giang, who said that the visit of the Cuban leader, described as successful, will contribute to the strengthening of ties in defense and the traditional friendship between the two countries.

President Tran Dai Quang, after meeting with the representative of the Caribbean country, reaffirmed his willingness to be along with Cuba in any situation and thanked his support not only in Vietnam’s struggle for independence in the past, but also in the construction and national safeguard in the present.
