Hezbollah’s leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said this Friday that a potential Israeli war against Syria or Lebanon would attract thousands of combatants from Iran and Iraq, among other countries in the Arab world.

His remarks suggest that the same Shi’a militias, currently backed by Iran and fighting for President Bashar al-Assad in the civil war in Syria, could participate in any future conflict with Israel.

The Israeli enemy must know that if they unleash a war against Syria or Lebanon, we do not known whether the fight will remain Syrian-Israeli or Lebanese-Israeli, Nasrallah said during a televised speech.

Hezbollah’s leader repeatedly warned Israel not to attack Lebanon. Experts believe that warnings are part of a Hezbollah deterrence policy, which includes exposing its military capabilities, which can reach any military target in Israel.
