Russia and China are concerned because of the situation in the Korean peninsula.

MOSCOW, Russia. – Moscow and Beijing will present their joint initiative to solve the situation on the Korean peninsula at a meeting of the United Nations Security Council, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced.

Lavrov said that the current situation on the fulfilment of the previous resolutions would be addressed today, at the headquarters of the United Nations Security Council in New York. He added Russia and China would present their initiative in detail and promote it.

The Russian Chancellor assured that any attempt to resolve the situation with force using Security Council resolutions as a pretext is unacceptable.

We have agreed to promote a joint initiative based on the Russian plan for gradual resolution, and in the Chinese idea of simultaneously curbing North Korea’s nuclear and missile programs, Lavrov said.
