Lima, Peru.-The historic legacy of Cuban Revolution leader Fidel Castro and his close ties with Argentine-Cuban revolutionary Ernesto Che Guevara were highlighted at a meeting of the Peruvian committee of tributes to Che.
During a meeting in the Cuban embassy in Peru representatives of political and social organizations and personalities of culture and other areas agreed to point out the example left by both revolutionaries.
The social fighter Ricardo Gadea, president of the Organizing Committee of the tributes to Che Guevara on the 50th anniversary of his last fight in Bolivia said that ‘talking about Che is talking about Fidel.’
He also highlighted the example that Fidel also represents for Latin America and for many peoples and praised ‘his sense of humanity of responsibility, not only with Cuba, but with the world’, of which there are many examples.
The participants took stock of the activities carried out and agreed to strengthen the committee and to organize the work commissions for each of the following tributes, which will culminate in October, the month of the death of the revolutionary in Bolivia.
