UNITED NATIONS, New York. – The Board of the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament, PARLATINO, recently approved a resolution to reject the announcement of the United States Government, on the intensification of the economic, commercial and financial blockade to Cuba.
The document reiterates the change in Washington’s policy means a setback in some issues with a progress already by the previous American Administration, and on the way to normalization of relations with the island.
In addition, PARLATINO´s resolution emphasizes this issue has been repeatedly rejected by its bodies, as well as by the General Assembly of the United Nations and the international public opinion.
The text calls on the American Congress to end the blockade and to urge Parliamentarians of Latin America and the Caribbean to reinforce the claim to end this harmful policy to the Cuban people´s rights.
