Havana, Cuba.- Delegates to the 24th Meeting of the Forum of Sao Paolo denounced today in this capital the media aggression that the United States and other power centers carried out against the Latin American revolutionary and progressive governments and their leaders.
During the second day of the forum held at the Havana Convention Center, a workshop on political communication and media was conducted, in which the use of the media as a tool for propaganda and destabilization was exposed.
We face very powerful forces in Latin America that manage to reach people; hence, the importance of articulating actions aimed at counteracting them, warned Rosana Ramos, a member of the communications directorate of the Workers’ Party of Brazil.
On the other hand, the Minister of Communication of Bolivia, Gisela Lopez, drew attention to campaigns that seek to discredit leaders and attribute to the State a supposed persecution of the private press.
In the ongoing meeting that brings together in Cuba over 430 delegates from Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, Asia and Europe, workshops were also held for debate among young people, women, parliamentarians and social movements.
