Buenos Aires, Argentina.- The head of International Relations of the Cuban Ministry of Justice, Claudio Ramos, presented today the experiences of his country in drug policies at the high-level meeting of the Mechanism of cooperation between CELAC and the European Union.

To Cuba Illicit drug use is not a problem of the same relevance as for other countries in the region, as the prevalence of drug use is very small, as evidenced by scientific research.

In the meeting attended by 46 nations of CELAC and the European Union, Ramos said transnational criminal organizations do not operate on Cuba.

During this week, Cuba also attended the annual meeting of the European Union-Latin America Cooperation Program on Drug Policy, in which strategies and mechanisms to combat this scourge were addressed.
