LIMA, Peru. – Latin America is mutilated without the presence of Venezuela, Cuban diplomat Juan Antonio Fernandez said during the hemispheric dialogue that takes place in Peru prior to the eighth Summit of the Americas.

Fernandez said, referring to Venezuela´s exclusion, that this dialogue and the Summit itself should be a meeting point for all the countries of the hemisphere and a space to expose ideas, achieve consensus and debate in our rich diversity.
The representative of Cuba expressed concern about the untransparent and selective manner in which the twenty eight coalitions of hemispheric civil society were formed.

Fernandez warned about the composition of a coalition coordinated by the so-called Latin American Youth Network for Democracy, made up of people of dubious trajectory and with political agendas of provocations and subversion.

Every Offense to Cuba Will Find Answers

Cuban civil society will not share in Lima any space with mercenary elements and organizations at the service of a foreign power.

This position was exhibited by Cuban representative Yamila González Ferrer, in the hemispheric dialogue in the capital of Peru, preparatory to the Civil Society Forum, parallel to the eighth Summit of the Americas, which will began next April.

Gonzalez, spokesperson for the coalition that addresses the issue for an inclusive and respectful world, denounced that the mercenaries seek to provoke and achieve a recognition that they do not have in Cuba.

“We have the purpose of participating in a respectful manner in the debates, but every offense, disrespect or provocation will always have an answer,” the Cuban representative warned.
