Havana, Cuba.-Slovakia”s Finance and Health Ministers, Peter Kazimir and Tomas Drucker, respectively, are on a visit to Cuba, to strengthen trade and cooperation relations between the two countries.

The visiting delegation, made up of experts from both sectors, was welcomed yesterday by Cuban Vice President, Ricardo Cabrisas. The visitors expressed interest in increasing ties of friendship and solidarity with their colleagues on the island.

They also expressed their desire to invest here, motivated for the financial facilities EXIMBANKA offers to Slovak companies for working with Cuban companies.

During that meeting, Cabrisas expressed gratitude to the Slovak government and its ambassador to this capital for the signing of the Agreement for Debt Liquidation in October 2015.

The Cuban Minister of Economy and Planning also thanked the Slovak delegation for the support during the pro tempore presidency of the European Union (EU) Council to achieve the signing of the Agreement on Political Dialogue and Cooperation between Cuba and the EU itself, Granma newspaper reported.

The two sides highlighted the progress reached in the negotiations of the investment projects identified after the new approach of both countries in 2015.

During its stay in the island, the Slovakian delegation will sign energy and health agreements with its Cuban peers.
