The Argentine musical and humorous group Les Luthiers received today in Spain the 2017 Princess of Asturias Award for Communication and Humanities.

The group was born at the University of Buenos Aires and became one of the main communicators of the Ibero-American culture from artistic creation and humor.

The jury gathered in the northern Spanish city of Oviedo stressed the group Les Luthiers that combines humor with music and the use of instruments of their creation, is a critical mirror and a reference of freedom in contemporary society.

The famous comedians visited Cuba in 1983, when they helped to open a new aesthetic line and to stimulate the emergence of new groups, mainly in the universities.
