Havana, Cuba.- The Casa de las Americas announced the tribute to the Salvadoran poet Roque Dalton, whose lyrics advocated for the social causes of Latin America, on the occasion of its 85th anniversary.

In a press release, the respectable Cuban institution fostered the tribute to the beloved revolutionary who published several of his poetry books and essays under the seal of the Casa Editorial Fund, including the poetry collection ‘Taberna y otros lugares.’

A group of Cuban writers will pay tribute to the poet who won the 1969 Casa Prize and also held a close relationship with the main writers of the continent thanks to his strong lyrical voice committed to the political struggle in his country.

The online recital, scheduled at the emblematic Casa de las Americas, at 15:30 local time, will take place on May 14, on Facebook Streaming Cuba platform and Cuban Culture Ministry´s YouTube Channel, as well as the national television.
