The FAO announced that it has mobilized its Special Fund for Emergency and Rehabilitation Activities – Agricultural Inputs Response Capacity (SFERA-AIRC) with a contribution of 300,000 USD by the Belgian government toward efforts to repair damage caused by Hurricane Irma to agriculture and fishing sectors in the Caribbean.
Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez, speaking in the UN this Monday, September 18, noted that the island is advancing in its recovery following the devastating impact of Hurricane Irma, and will not abandon any of those people affected to their own fate.
