The President of the National Defense Council, Army General Raul Castro Ruz, headed a meeting with Party leaders, the State and the Government on this Wednesday night, in which they assessed the damage caused by Hurricane Irma and they pointed out the actions to be developed during the recovery stage.
Taking into account the battle for the recovery in the country, the national coordinator of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR), Carlos Rafael Miranda, convened a day of mass mobilization, with the purpose of contributing to the sanitization and rehabilitation of public areas.
Cuban First Vice-President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez highlighted in the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television (ICRT) the effort, dedication, audacity of the radio and television workers in their broadcasts during Hurricane Irma’s passage through Cuba.
Cuba is ready today to receive Russian tourism in its favorite destinations, Varadero and Havana, where the recovery, after Hurricane Irma, allows the operation of most of its facilities.
The Cuban President, Raul Castro Ruz, has highlighted the work conducted to recover from the huge damages caused by Hurricane Irma, and expressed his confidence that ”we will get back on our feet once again”, according to the morning press
The Provincial Defense Council (CDP) of Havana continues today in recovery tasks after the damages caused last weekend in this capital by hurricane Irma.
Under the principle of saving human life, the Cuban State -through Civil Defense and back-up organizations- had firstly evacuated 1,738,000 people before being hit by powerful hurricane Irma, that left huge damages, among them in the national electric system.
