HAVANA, Cuba.- The President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sanchez, will hold official conversations with Cuban authorities during his visit to the island, the local Chancellery reported.

Scheduled for next Thursday and Friday, Sanchez´s visit will be the first with official character a head of the Spanish executive will pay to Cuba, since that of Felipe Gonzalez in 1986.

The Spanish President and his Cuban counterpart Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez met in New York last September during the high-level segment of the United Nations General Assembly.

Both countries have expressed the desire to promote political dialogue and institutional linkages, to promote economic-commercial, financial and investment relations, so the Spanish President will fulfill a broad agenda during his stay in the Island.
