Bangkok, Thailand.- Cuba and Thailand have confirmed Thursday in Bangkok the good state of their relations and reiterated their will to strengthen them, informed the Cuban ambassador here, Hector Conde.

In a cordial meeting with the new Director General of America and South Pacific of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, Ambassador Witchu Vejjajiva, I thanked him for the friendly actions of the government and the people of this country towards ours, the diplomat told Prensa Latina.

In a special way, he pointed out, I recognized the continued support of Thailand to the Resolution of the General Assembly of the United Nations that demands the end of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba.

The ambassador said that these and other solidarity expressions are more important these days, when the Donald Trump administration is trying to tighten even more the blockade against Cuba by activating Title III of the Helms-Burton Act and other extraterritorial measures.

The interlocutors also discussed the follow-up actions to the results of the inter-foreign ministries meeting held in Havana in April 2016, as well as the progress of bilateral cooperation in various fields.

We also exchanged views on the importance of the next ministerial meeting of the Latin America-East Asia Cooperation Forum, to be held in November in the Dominican Republic, and to assess the main regional and global issues of international policy’, Conde pointed out.
