HAVANA, Cuba.-The presence of about 65 countries at the 36th International Fair of Havana, and more than 3000 exhibitors, confirms the interest the Cuban market arouses in the world.

Rodrigo Malmierca, Minister of this sector, assured that in the opening of the important commercial bag, attended by the President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, who then toured Expocuba and exchanged with exhibitors.

Malmierca highlighted that important trading partners of the island such as Venezuela, Russia, China and Spain participate in the event, dedicated to the 500th anniversary of Havana.

The Minister highlighted the assistance of more than 20 countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, reaffirming the will of economic integration with the area.

Cuban Commercial Showcase Opened Its Gates

At the inauguration of the Havana Fair, Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment Rodrigo Malmierca said this year Cuba continued to prioritize investments in strategic sectors such as energy, infrastructure, tourism, industry, food, and agriculture.

He also referred that the number of approved businesses inside the Mariel Special Zone of Development and outside increase, and Cuba persists in the willingness to move forward in updating its economic model.

Malmierca noted that despite the blockade, we continue to count on the presence of American companies, which recognize the advantages of investing in the island.

The official presented details of the Fair´s program, including the Second Investment Forum that will host representatives from 32 countries in more than 300 exchange meetings.
