Discipline, order and demand are the maxims to guarantee quality in the railway transportation service, and a long life of its infrastructure, said today the Cuban Minister of Transport, Adel Yzquierdo.

During the analysis made by the Attention to Services Committee of the National Assembly of People’s Power, Yzquierdo referred to criminal acts and illegalities, which joined to insufficient equipment, poor state of the roads, and lack of training of workers, affect the quality of service.

In light of those mitigating facts, the Cuban Minister of Transport urged the Railways Union of Cuba to pay attention to their companies and to promote measures to fulfill their mission integrally.

The company, strategic in the National Plan of Economic and Social Development, failed to fulfill its plans of public transportation and cargo last year, generating losses to the country and dissatisfaction to passengers.

In the Agrifood Committee, Didier Estevez, vice-president of AZCUBA, informed the members of the Cuban Parliament that the productive increases in sugar and derivatives are directly linked to the investment program.

He noted that the group is updating its projection up to 2024, seeking financing alternatives in the medium and long term in different markets.

Estevez explained that because of the negotiations six bioelectrics are in progress and must get going in 2021.
