Spanish Chancellor claimed a peaceful solution to the conflict in Venezuela.

MADRID, Spain.- The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain, Josep Borrell, accused the United States of behaving like a cowboy in Venezuela, and claimed a solution to the political conflict in that country through peaceful ways.

The Spanish Chancellor advocated to continue the role of the International Contact Group, since it is not in the same wavelength as the American administration, he emphasized.

Interrogated about the frustrated call for a military uprising against Maduro, led by deputy opponent Juan Guaido, the Spanish Chancellor described what happened as an attempt of coup d’état.

It is necessary to call a spade a spade, said Borrell, whose government, however, recognized Guaido as president-in-charge of Venezuela, in tune with the United States and other European and Latin American nations.
