ST. PETERSBURG, Russia.- As part of the work of the Cuban high-level delegation to the International Economic Forum of St. Petersburg, Cuba and Russia updated cooperation to modernize the island’s railways.

The Vice-President of the Cuban Council of Ministers and head of Economy andP, Ricardo Cabrisas, spoke with Oleg Belosiorov, president of the Russian Railways, within the context of the Forum.

Both sides emphasized the importance of the project to modernize the railway structure for Cuba, which will be the flagship project of the relations of both nations.

The parties defined the course to be followed in order to advance in the development of the aforementioned project and, in general, they reviewed its current situation and perspectives, in addition to confirming the willingness to move forward.
