Evo Morales Highlights State Duty with Sanitation

LA PAZ, Bolivia.- The Government’s duty to ensure basic services for a healthy and dignified life of the people was highlighted by Bolivian President Evo Morales on World Sanitation Day.

Morales pointed out in his Twitter account that on this date we should reflect on the importance of providing the population with adequate infrastructure in sewerage, sanitation and communal services.

In the last twelve years, the Bolivian Government invested about 2 billion dollars in programs that guarantee access to safe water and sanitation, figures that reveal the political will of the administration headed by President Evo Morales.

The UN General Assembly designated November 19 as World Sanitation Day with the aim of gaining awareness of the importance of accessing these services in a sustainable manner.
