Ciego de Avila, Cuba.- The Connecting Landscapes project, aimed at preserving biodiversity in mountain ecosystems, is currently advancing in the Bamburanao mountain range in Florencia municipality.

The actions undertaken in this region, such as tree planting, maintenance work and workshops on forest fire prevention and environmental education, are aimed at benefiting the local environment in order to combat the impact of climate change.

This project facilitates the harmoniously combination of economic activities and social progress in Florencia municipality.

It also works to safeguard wildlife biodiversity, soil conservation and achieve comprehensive and sustainable development in the mountain range.

The Connecting Landscapes project has been developing nationwide since 2015, and it is geared to preserving biodiversity in threatened mountain ecosystems.
