The Peace Boat.

HAVANA, Cuba. – The Peace Boat will arrive tomorrow at the cruise ship Terminal of this city to begin its eighteenth visit to Havana, this time with 1 200 passengers from seven Asian countries.

The Cuban Institute of Friendship with Peoples confirmed that one of the main activities of travelers from Japan, China, Malaysia, Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand and Singapore, will be their participation in the Peace Forum, in which one of the essential issues will be the fight for a world free of nuclear weapons.

The Peace Boat embarked on its journey with Hibakushas or survivors and some descendants of that barbarity, approved by American President Harry Truman.

The ship is also represents a Japan-based NGO actively involved in cultural exchanges and education and awareness-raising activities.
