HAVANA, Cuba.- The first Vice-president of the Councils of State and Ministers, Salvador Valdes Mesa, received on Monday morning the former President of the Republic of Mali, His Excellency Mr. Alpha Oumar Konar.

In the fraternal encounter, they highlighted the historical links between Mali and Cuba, and emphasized the solidity of the relations of friendship and cooperation between both countries. They also addressed other issues of national and international topicality.

The former President of the Republic of Mali was accompanied by His Excellency Mr. Abdoul Kader Toure, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Mali in Cuba.

On the Cuban side, Gisela Garcia Rivera, director of Sub-Saharan Africa in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other officials participated.
