Brussels, Belgium.- Several Belgium friendship organizations have rejected on Thursday the White House announcement to apply Title III of Helms-Burton Act, which they considered it is a ”new violation of international law.”

Dozens of associations regretted in a statement that the US decision may lead to serious damage to European and Canadian companies working in Cuba, and this means a worsening of a blockade imposed by Washington almost 60 years ago.

According to the text, ‘extraterritorial sanctions are contrary to the United Nations system, International Law and the World Trade Organization.’

The organizations stated that this aggravation of sanctions and their extraterritoriality have as their sole objective to destroy the Cuban Revolution.

‘Trump’s dream and the other hawks is the destruction of the popular and revolutionary movement in Latin America. For that reason, they are now focused on ending the progressive and revolutionary governments of Cuba, Venezuela, Bolivia and Nicaragua,’ they denounced.

After underlining the right of the Cuban people to self-determination, they called for ‘denunciation, mobilization and solidarity with socialist Cuba: No to the application of Title III of Helms-Burton Act! No to Helms-Burton Act!, No to blockade!’
