UNITED NATIONS, New York.- UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres reiterated his support for international efforts to achieve a peaceful and negotiated solution in Venezuela.
During his speech at a Security Council meeting on conflict prevention, the UN Secretary General indicated he closely follows the process initiated in Norway, in order to foster a dialogue in that South American country.
The President of the General Assembly of the UN, Maria Fernanda Espinosa, also closely follows the development of the situation in Venezuela, her spokesperson Monica Grayley said this Wednesday
Espinosa advocates for a dialogue leading to an understanding between the parties, the spokesperson added. At the beginning of this week, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza criticized the position of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees regarding the migration of their nationals.
