HAVANA, Cuba.- The President of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel, will participate in the central event on July 26, National Rebellion Day, which will take place tomorrow in the eastern province of Granma.

Through a message on Twitter, Diaz-Canel announced he is traveling to the city of Bayamo to celebrate the important ephemeris with its inhabitants,

On the way to Bayamo to be with the Granma people, all united in a Homeland Square against the Helms-Burton Act, the Cuban President wrote on his account.

On July 26, 1953, a group of Cuban revolutionaries stormed Guillermon Moncada Barrack in Santiago de Cuba, and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes Barrack in Bayamo, actions that initiated the libertarian gestation that culminated in the triumph of the Cuban Revolution on the January 1, 1959.
