U.S. siege will not block principles in Cuba, says President.

HAVANA, Cuba.- Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez reiterated that America’s economic siege against Cuba will never block the principles, convictions, and patriotism of the people.

Nor financial impacts, or the scarcity of resources caused by the upsurge in the blockade with the harshest application of the Helms-Burton Act will they dent Cuba’s independence and sovereignty,

For nearly 60 years, the U.S. blockade has caused losses to the island, valued at more than $900 billion, taking into account dollar’s depreciation against the value of gold on the international market.

Specialists point out that the increase in the aggressiveness of the U.S. government against Cuba responds to the hijacking of that northern country’s foreign policy by characters such as Senator Marco Rubio and the National Security Adviser.
