Barranquilla, Colombia.- Cubans Adrián Oquendo and Ángel Fournier won the crown of the double pair of short oars of the 23rd Central American and Caribbean Sports Games of Barranquilla 2018.

Oquendo and Fournier gave Cuba its third gold medal of the fair, with a time of 6.56.56 minutes, in the Calima Lake of the city of Cali, headquarters of the discipline.

Mexicans Diego Sanchez and Juan Flores won the silver medal with a time of 7.00.07 minutes, and the Venezuelans Jackson Vicent and Ali Leiva, the bronze one with 7.02.18.

In addition, in the double pair shorts lightweight rowing for ladies the title went to the Mexican Fabiola Núñez and Melissa Márquez, with a record of 7.53.73 minutes.

The runner-up was reached Cubans Rosana Serrano and Yislena Hernandez with a time of 8.00.36 minutes, and the third place, Guatemalans Yulisa Lopez and Jennieffer Zuñiga (8.07.05).

Mexico also won the title of the pair of long oars for women, with the success of Fernanda Ceballos and Maite Arrillaga, who set a time of 8.00.94 minutes.

The silver medal went to Cubans Aimée Hernández and Yariulvis Cobas (8.11.01) and the bronze one for the Nicaraguans Ana Vanegas and Evidelia González (8.29.96). The latter gave their country the first medal of the Colombian joust.
