Havana, Cuba.-Cuban beach volleyball player Sergio Gonzalez predicted that the main Cuban pair in this sport would achieve new victories in the World Circuit in 2017.

‘We, based on the results achieved in the Olympic Games, are in good conditions to be included in the World Circuit, which is the top level in beach volleyball nowadays,’ he told the news agency Prensa Latina.

Gonzalez was chosen as the best male representative in team sports in Cuba en 2016.

We want to prove that we can play at that level and achieve good results, and we will work on that, said Gonzalez, together with his compatriot Nivaldo Diaz, the other member of the Cuban pair that reached a surprising fifth position in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
