SANTIAGO DE CUBA, Cuba.- Army General Raul Castro Ruz, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba, was elected delegate to the National Conference of the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution, by Santiago de Cuba.

At the fifth Provincial Conference held last Sunday, the more than 170 delegates of that province also elected Heroes of the Republic of Cuba Army Corps General Alvaro Lopez Miera and Major General Antonio Enrique Lusson.

The assembly also elected the new provincial leadership of the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution, and the 26 delegates who will represent the territory at the National Conference.

The meeting was chaired by the highest authorities of the Party and Government in Santiago de Cuba, and Major General Jose Carrillo Gomez, president of the Association of Combatants.
