HAVANA, Cuba. – The more than 250 young Cubans who participated in the recently concluded 19th World Festival of Youth and Students, which took place at the Russian city of Sochi, returned this Monday.

In welcoming them, Ronald Hidalgo, second secretary of the Young Communist League of Cuba, highlighted the historical coincidence of the arrival of the delegation with the date when Fidel, fifty five years ago, made public the measures guaranteeing the safety of the country in the midst of the Cuban Missiles Crisis.

Hidalgo said that the people have been aware of the Cuban prominence in the Festival of Youth and Students, and that during the working days the Revolution´s principles were dignified.

The young leader emphasized that the Cuban representation in Sochi raised high the principles of anti-imperialism and solidarity of the Cubans.
