HAVANA, Cuba.- Juan Carlos Varela Rodriguez, President of the Republic of Panama, arrived in Cuba in the early hours of this Monday afternoon, for an official visit that will be extended until Wednesday.

At Jose Marti International Airport in Havana, Varela Rodriguez was greeted by Rogelio Sierra, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The Panamanian President will begin this afternoon the official program of his visit with the homage to the national hero and apostle of the emancipating struggles of the Cuban people, Jose Marti, in the Square of the Revolution named in his honor.

After placing a floral tribute and touring the Memorial devoted to Marti’s life, work and legacy, the distinguished guest will hold official conversations with Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, President of the Councils of State and Ministers of the Republic of Cuba.
