HAVANA, Cuba.- The Mexican University of Guadalajara gave Cuban Maestro Jose Luis Cortes, the title of Honorary Doctor for his work in music, the founding of the Flute Camerata and the Singing School.

Lang Hernandez, manager of NG La Banda Orchestra, added the renowned flute player, arranger, composer and music producer has provided long hours of work to the development of the Cuban music and culture.

He commented that Maestro Jose Luis Cortes is a precursor to timba rhythm, has great musical successes, and is the creator of the new school of singers and flutists of the Cuban popular music

Born in Villa Clara almost 66 years ago, the director of NG La Banda Orchestra showed unusual skills for music and dance since childhood.
