HAVANA, Cuba.- The eighteenth Ernest Hemingway International Colloquium will be from June 15 to 18 at Ambos Mundos Hotel, in Old Havana, one of the endearing places in the life of the American writer.

The meeting will be dedicated to the eighty years of the publication of the novel To Have and Have Not, and the sixty-five of the famous tale The Old Man and the Sea, inspired by the life of Cojimar´s fishermen. At the same time, it will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Ernest Hemingway Museum, in Finca Vigia.

Gladys Collazo, president of the National Cultural Heritage Council, announced the presence of experts from the United States, Italy, Japan, Spain and Argentina, as well as Cuban scholars.

The eighteenth Ernest Hemingway International Colloquium will also remember writer Enrique Cirules and Blas Hernandez, the late was nicknamed by Hemingway as Cayuco Jonronero (Slugger Cayuco).
