HAVANA, Cuba.- The first Vice-President of the Councils of State and of Ministers, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, received on Monday morning Honorable Mr. Suresh Prabhu, Minister of Trade and Industry of India, who visits Cuba leading an important delegation of entrepreneurs to participate in the 35th International Fair of Havana.
Diaz-Canel thanked the visitor for the donations of medicines, tractors and agricultural implements given by the Indian government to the recovery of damage caused by Hurricane Irma and that ratify the solidarity and brotherhood of the Indian government and people with the Cuban people.
Prahbu and Diaz-Canel talked about the deepening of links between both Governments and peoples, from the historical ties between the two nations; as well as the existing potential to broaden and deepen bilateral economic, commercial and financial relations, which will contribute to the implementation of strategic projects for the Cuban economic development.
The Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz, and Hon. Mr. Tsewang Namgyal, Ambassador of India in Cuba, attended the meeting with other members of the official delegation.
The Indian Minister’s schedule also includes encounters with Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, Vice-President of the Council of Ministers and other Cuban leaders.
