PYONGYANG, DPRC.- Salvador Valdes Mesa, First Vice-President of the Councils of State and Ministers, attended in Pyongyang the celebrations for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, in addition to fulfilling a broad work agenda since last September 8.

The Cuban First Vice-President held separate meetings with Kim Jong Nam, chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly; with Cheo RyongHae, Vice-President of the Korean Labor Party and Vice-Chairman of the State Committee of the DPRC; and Ri Su Yong, Vice-President and head of the International Relations Department of the Korean Labor Party.

During the meetings held in a climate of friendship, they exchanged on the excellent state of the bilateral relations and topics of common interest of the international agenda.

Salvador Valdes Mesa conveyed to the Korean authorities, cordial congratulations from Army General Raul Castro Ruz, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, and Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, President of the Councils of State and Ministers, on the occasion of such an important historical event.
